Zero Discharge System For Effluents

Effluent feed is concentrated in a multiple effect evaporator system using vapor recompression to minimize steam consumption. The effluent feed is passed through a Rising Film Evaporator (RFE) and Forced Circulation Evaporators (FCE) in series to concentrate it to a desired level. This concentrated mass is then passed to a “sludge dryer” to convert effluent sludge to powder.

Up gradation of Wax

The melting point and hardness of wax is increased by passing the soft wax feed through a Falling Film Evaporator (FFE), an Agitated Thin Film Evaporator (ATFE) and two Short Path Distillation Units (SPDU). The mixed volatiles and soft wax are stripped off in stages.

DMSO recovery

DMSO is recovered from water and salts by pre-concentrating it in a Rising Film Evaporator (RFE), then removing the salts in an Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) and finally separating it from water by distillation.

Pyridine Recovery

Water and pyridine, which form an azeotrope are separated by passing the mixture into a Distillation Column, followed by a Liquid-liquid Extractor (LLE) and another Column which gives almost 99.5% pure pyridine at the bottom and an azeotropic mixture of pyridine-water at the top which is recycled back to the LLE.
